With a foundation in engineering management and project coordination, Doreen Mkatomboka brings a systems mindset to the human rights sector. As Executive and Governance Coordinator at the Africa Albinism Network (AAN), she is the primary operational support to the Executive Director and serves as secretariat to the Board of Directors.

Her path at AAN began as an Executive Assistant and grew through the roles of Project Associate and Capacity Development Coordinator. Along the way, she has built strong capabilities in website and software management, from maintaining AAN’s website content and newsletters to managing SharePoint and Microsoft Teams, partner and stakeholder databases, and project tracking. She is also experienced in coordinating virtual and in-person convenings, and applies digital and AI-assisted tools to improve team efficiency.

Curious, adaptable, and purpose-driven, Doreen is committed to advancing inclusive, people-centred approaches that strengthen capacity and drive meaningful change.

Doreen is fluent in English and Swahili. Outside work, she enjoys board games, video games, photography, and sports.
